  • Overview

    A new modular CME-accredited program designed to support clinicians in translating evolving lipid guidelines into everyday practice. Delivered as a 60-minute webcast, divided into chapters for convenience, it integrates U.S. and international perspectives and focuses on equitable cardiovascular care. The course highlights women-specific cardiovascular risk modifiers, including reproductive and hormonal factors that are often under-recognized in risk assessment. It also emphasizes practical, multidisciplinary approaches to improving lipid management outcomes across diverse health systems.

    The educational design of this activity addresses the needs of cardiologists, lipid specialists, internal medicine/family physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and pharmacists working in both US and international settings involved in the treatment of patients with CVD and/or ASCVD.

  • Learning Objectives

    After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

    • Review cardiovascular risk prediction incorporating women-specific modifiers (e.g., premature menopause, pregnancy related hypertensive disorders) and demographic/ethnic factors.
    • Interpret key guideline recommendations (ESC/EAS 2025 and U.S. and global parallels) regarding LDLC goals, treatment intensification, and non-statin therapy use in diverse populations.
    • Identify treatment pathways for patients (including women) who do not achieve LDLC targets, including those with complicating histories like statin intolerance, pregnancy history, or menopausal status.
    • Evaluate roles of multidisciplinary teams (cardiology, primary care, pharmacy, APPs) in translating guideline updates in both U.S. and international settings, paying attention to gender equity and access.
    • Identify appropriate lipid management strategies that integrate women’s health conditions and global perspectives to improve lipid management outcomes.
